To install our objects you'll need to install the c.e.p (the colour enabler package) get it here http://sims.ambertation.de/cep.shtml
then unzip the zip files from our site to your EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads folder. (if the 'downloads' folder doesn't exist, you'll have to create it) you'll need winzip or winrar program to unzip the downloads. You can get it here http://www.winzip.com/
Once the 'objects' are in the downloads folder. Run the game. :) The custom objects will have a little asterix beside them in buy mode.

walls and flooors are a little different. (see below)

this is a very good guide on how to install objects, walls, floors, and clothes
http://www.thesimsresource.com/article/help/Installing_Custom_Content

'Objects, recolours and clothes'
go into the /My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads folder.

 'Walls, Floors & Grounds'
Walls, Floors and Ground Textures are created using the Maxis tool HomeCrafter Plus and are downloaded as a .Sims2Pack file (a self installing package). Simply save this file anywhere that you will be able to find it (My Documents for example), then browse to the file using Windows Explorer, and click on it to install. A popup box will appear asking if you wish to install the package. You can also refer to the Sims 2 manual for details on installing .Sims2Pack files.

FAQ

1. Can't find the Fireplace? Its in Appliances - all

The one known 'little bug' with the fireplace is that once you've placed it in your house you can't move it around. You will have to delete it and place it again.

2. Can't find the Waterfall? The Waterfall needs Nightlife and you'll find it in Outdoor - Decorative.

3. Can't find the Cabinets? All overhead kitchen cabinets are in kitchen - Decorative.

4. Fridges - There are 2 versions of both the fridges. Base game versions and the OFB versions. The base game versions will work in all EP's but you'll need the OFB version for the OFB fridge options.

5. Cant find anything? We have set up a collection file and icon for you and its in a folder called Holysimoly_collection_files in the zip.

copy the .package file into My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Collections

copy the HolySimolyCol_DP2.jpg into My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Collections\Icons

This will keep all these objects in the one place. yay!!

Recolour policy

We have two sets of rules, one for the donation pack items, one for the regular downloads.

Donation Pack:
These items cannot be redistributed at all, or recoloured for upload purposes.
You may recolour for your own personal gameplay of course, but obviously with our donation pack items, we do not allow uploading of our items/recolours to other sites either directly or in lots.

We don't allow recolours that you make yourself to be uploaded either directly to sites or in lots, because we just feel that it wouldn't be fair for people to be sent to our site to get a mesh, only to find they can't have it unless they donate.

Regular Downloads:

We don't allow redistribution of our meshes/recols/floors/walls/clothes directly, ie. putting our meshes or recols on your site for people to download. The reason being is that people don't need to upload our work [directly] for any artistic reason, and it would just get confusing as to who created it, which isn't fair on the creator.

We do allow people to upload lots with our meshes/recols/walls/floors in it. The reason being is that the lot is the lot artist's creation, and people generally understand that the content in a lot isn't neccessarily the lot creator's. Lot creators are wonderfully respectful of content creators, and they always give credit and link back to our site homepage when they include our stuff. It's done fairly and isn't confusing as to who created what, and gives the lot artist more to work with.

We're happy for people to recolour our regular downloads, as people don't have to donate to get the mesh. We try to make them recolour-friendly as much as we can. You can upload your recols directly to other sites with credit and link to get the mesh from our site.

We always appreciate an email letting us know if you're uploading a lot with our items, or uploading recols of our stuff, but it isn't neccessary. It's just nice to see what other creators do with our meshes.

In short, donation pack = no uploading at all, no uploading your recolours.

regular stuff = no uploading directly of our work, but recolour and upload your recol giving credit and link for main mesh, or upload our work in lots and give credit/link to our homepage.
