Thank you for downloading from SIMSLICE! :)

Please do not copy, clone, hack, sell, distribute to others or post on other sites without permission from the creator. If you have questions about anything, please send an email to service@simslice.com. Thanks, and enjoy! :)

REQUIREMENTS: Uncertain but safe - it should work with any version of The Sims 2, but this was made in a game with the TS2U, NL and OFB expansions which might sneak in a requirement. If you don't have those expansions, please let us know how it goes. See below for object requirements (the Simslice objects you need to download if you haven't already). Enjoy! :)

NOTE: Sims 2 content is not compatable with the original Sims (TS1) game.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Installation: Place the "CAS!.package" file in your "../Downloads" folder. For most people (depending on where you installed your game), that directory path is: "C:\Documents and Settings\...\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads"

You can only use one CAS screen at a time.

UN-INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Unistallation: Simply remove the "CAS!.package" file from your "../Downloads" folder.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This is a Create a Sim screen (CAS) replacement with a neon look and feel. In addition to the requirements above, you will need to download some Simslice items for them to show in this Create A Sim screen:

- Holiday Lights

You can download Simslice objects from our TS2 Objects section here--

INSTRUCTIONS -- HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN CAS!:

1) If you are running The Sims 2 game, first quit the game.

2) Then open up the "My Computer" icon on your desktop and go to this folder:
C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\GlobalLots\

3) Here you should see a file called "CAS!.package". "Copy" this file (select it and type Ctrl+C), and then go to this folder:
My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\LotCatalog\
And "Paste" the file there (Ctrl+P).

4) Rename the file to "cx_00000013.package". If this "...013" number is already taken, then rename it to the next available sequential number (i.e. "cx_00000014.package" or "cx_00000015.package", etc., whatever is the next unused number).

5) Now run The Sims 2 game, and go to the Neighborhood of your choice.

6) Take a look in the Lots and Houses Bin, and you should find a small lot with a strange name like "jlghjidsfln" or something similar. Place it somewhere in your Neighborhood, and enter it.

7) You will see that it is the set from CAS!. Edit it in whatever way you wish, but keep the basic CAS object set in the same place -- DO NOT MOVE OR DELETE ANY OF THE OBJECTS! You can put Walls in front of them if needed, and decorate your new walls, put in new objects, etc.

8) Then Save the Lot and move the House back to the Lots and Houses Bin. Note: Always keep the first floor visible when you save the lot, or else the CAS screen will be empty.

9) Quit the game and go back to the folder: My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\LotCatalog\

10) Now find your "cx_00000013.package" file (or whatever you renamed it to) -- this is that lot you just saved. RENAME the file to "CAS!.package" (without the quotes). Then copy it to your Downloads folder (for most people, it is here: "My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads").

11) That's it! The next time you go to create a new Sim or family, your CAS Screen will show your new background! Note that the custom CAS you just created is a "patch" over the default game CAS. You should temporarily REMOVE YOUR CAS whenever you install a new expansion pack or official patch just to be on the safe side. You can put it back in after you finish the installation. Put a note on your computer or CD case to remind yourself if you have to. Enjoy! :)
