INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1) Quit the game if it's running. Unzip and extract the file ending in ".sc4" to this folder: "..\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\SC4Terrains"

2) Run the game, and in the "Choose a Neighborhood to Play" screen, click the right arrow. Click on the big "Create a Custom Neighborhood" button.

3) A window will popup and ask you: "This will create a new Custom Neighbourhood without Lots or Sims. Continue?". Click Yes. Then select this neighborhood from the list (hint: our 'hoods all begin with the word "Simslice-...")

4) Type in a name for the Neighborhood and choose a Vegetation type (Dry, Lush, etc.). You can also put in a Description if you want.

5) You can now open and play your new neighborhood!

Putting in a preview picture of your Neighborhood:
- this is not necessary to do, but it will look more aesthetically pleasing in the game:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

6) Make sure you did steps #1 through #5 above. Then quit the game.

7) The default preview picture for all new Neighborhoods (shown in the "Choose a Neighborhood to Play" screen) is an ugly wireframe image... and you probably want to change that (although you don't have to). These steps below will show you how to do that, and it's easier than it sounds. First, you need to know which Neighborhood number the game has assigned to your new Neighborhood. Open the folder: "\..My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods". In there you should see several Neighborhood folders, each sequentially listed as "N001", "N002", etc. The one you just installed should be the last "N###" folder -- the number will depend on how many neighborhoods you have previously installed.

8) If for example your new Neighborhood is "N004", then you will see a picture filed named "N004_Neighborhood.png". That is the image of the wireframe that you want to replace. All you need to do is swap that image with another image and use the exact same file name for it (see below):

9) Enclosed in the .zip file you downloaded from Simslice should be a few files ending in ".png". These are various pictures of this Neighborhood. Choose only one of them and rename the file to N###_Neighborhood.png (where ### equals the numbers assigned to your new Neighborhood by the game). So following our example above, you would rename this file to "N004_Neighborhood.png" (the exact same name as the wireframe picture). Then replace the wireframe picture with this new picture.

10) The next time you run your game, you should see the preview picture in the "Choose a Neighborhood to Play" screen. :)

OFB POTENTIAL AESTHETIC ISSUE:

If you installed the Open For Business (OFB) expansion pack, it's possible that the bridges on the neighborhood terrains will appear to be "broken". The lots all will still function normally of course, and if it is an OFB issue, hopefully a patch will resolve it in the near future. This is only an aesthetic issue - Sita found by putting these same neighborhoods in a non-OFB game, the bridges appeared fine. Hopefully this is not an issue for you but if it is, we wanted to bring it to your attention just in case.
