INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Unzip and put all files ending in ".package" into this folder:
C:\..\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads
Or if you are a frequent downloader, it might help you organize your downloads better if you created a new folder and named it "Simslice", like this:
C:\..\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads\Simslice

(Note: The "Downloads" folder is not created when the game is installed, but only when the auto-installer from the game is first used. So if you don't have this "Downloads" folder or if you are new to downloading, simply create the folder in that location (spelled exactly the same - use the capital "D"))

DESCRIPTION:

"Cycle of Life" Cattle!
Cow & Bull Price: 30 each
Grazing Grass (Food) Price: 10
Buy Mode Category: Miscellaneous
Statistics: Fun 4; Social 3; Hunger 10

Enabled for use at-home and on all away-from-home lots
Requirements: None - Made to work with any version of The Sims 2 game.

Object Description:

Add more realism to your Sim farm! Use this cattle to provide food, money and fellowship for your entire family all from the comforts of your own home! To start, just buy some cows, bulls and a plot of grass for them to graze on. If you take care of your animals, they will prosper and increase in value, but if you don't they will go hungry and die. Care is easy - just keep some food on the lot and they will self-feed. If you forget, you will be alerted when you need to re-feed. For Fun points, you can hand-feed the animals or for Social points you can "talk" with them. For Hunger points, you can eat them and cows can provide milk too. For Simoleans, you can sell them. Plus other interactions are available as well. Impregnated cows will produce offspring. Baby calfs will soon grow into healthy adult cows or bulls. Like all life, these animals can't live forever individually but they will provide your Sims with sustenance, wealth and fellowship for generations to come. In addition, a large amount of statistical information is available right at your fingertips to help better manage your farm -- stats such as knowing exactly how hungry or pregnant all of your cattle is, or how depleted your food is, or how soon your baby calves will grow up... or even what their NAMES are (yes, they each have names!) Plus much much more -- all stats viewable with just one click. A lot of fun new surprises were also added that we hope you'll enjoy. :)

If you enjoyed our original TS1 COL chickens, we believe the advancements in this TS2 version will thrill you! Nine (9) files included that have a rather complex series of code-interactions to make your barnyard animal experience optimal and painless.

Special thanks to Mickyss for allowing us to use his cow model/texture for the body portion of our cow. Check out more of his cool looking objects on his website here: http://users.tpg.com.au/mickyss/

GAME PLAY INFO:

Additional "Cycle of Life" Animals for TS2 (Chickens, Pigs, etc.) can be found in our Sims 2 Objects section here:

"Cycle of Life" animals for TS1 (Cattle, Dragons, Chickens, etc.) can be found in our TS1 Miscellaneous Objects section here:
http://www.simslice.com/Objects-Miscellaneous.htm

The file "7Simslice-TS2-ServingPlatter.package" was also included in our Food Replicator download, and in our other COL Animals (Chickens, Pigs, etc). It is used for some of the meals in this download too. If you already have it, you don't have to overwrite it with this one because they are the exact same file. But it won't hurt anything if you do.

The Buy Mode thumbnail pic of the Cows and Bulls may appear headless for some reason. It seems the game is only rendering one of the model groups (the body) for that pic. But don't worry, they will both have heads when in the game.

"Feed For $" option goes away when the animal is full. It will come back when the animal is less full, but not necessarily hungry. When the animal is hungry (Hunger Points < 10), they will self-feed on the Grass Plot. If no food is available (or edible), an alert will warn you to restock their feed supply.

Value for the animals increase daily, just after midnight. Pregnant animals are worth a little more $ while pregnant. Once they give birth, their value goes back to it's normal (but still increases daily as always). Baby animals will not increase in value until they grow up, but you can sell them for $1 if you reeeeeeeeaally need the simoleans that badly. Dead animals have no simolean value whatsoever. Same goes for depleted or spoiled animal food.

Click "Info" on the animals to see their gender, name and other statistics.

Pregnancy happens if male and female animal are in the same "room", be it wall or fence enclosure (or free range outside, which is also considered the same "room" by the game). Some fences in the game don't separate the animals, and some do. It's just they way Maxis made the fences. So choose your fences wisely. Pregnancy won't occur if males and females are separated... but that's pretty much a no-brainer, right?....

Movement patterns of animals - if they seem like they are "wearing out the carpet" in only one area, give them either a "free range" or a larger uncluttered enclosure and that should do it. Like any animals, you will have to experiment to get your farm and barnyard animals to your liking. They may also move one direction, while looking another directions. Silly cattle....

Because they are technically one-tile objects, they might appear to "bleed through" a wall or fence when the move too close to it.

Ray gun - you can use it to humanely (and efficiently) "process" the cattle into a hearty meal, or to extract the milk from a cow effortlessly, or to "de-evolve" certain "visitors" back into their original egg state...... what does that last part mean?..... ;)

NEED MORE HELP?:

If you have any questions about downloading, unzipping and installing, please visit our FAQ page which has very detailed instructions at http://www.simslice.com/faq.htm

Any problems with crashes, freezes or objects not showing up are 99.9% of the time related to either "requirements" not being met, OR a fluke in the downloading/installing process... but it's NOT because of the actual object coding itself. Check our FAQ page for a very detailed list of these issues and resolutions you can do to resolve them. Typically the fix is to double check the requirements, and if you meet them, then delete and redownload the item. Do NOT use Simzip to unzip them. Further information as previously stated, is detailed on our FAQ page at http://www.simslice.com/faq.htm. If you still need help after consulting our FAQ page, please contact us and we'll try to help further.
