INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Unzip and put all files ending in ".package" into this folder:
C:\..\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads
Or if you are a frequent downloader, it might help you organize your downloads better if you created a new folder and named it "Simslice", like this:
C:\..\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads\Simslice

(Note: The "Downloads" folder is not created when the game is installed, but only when the auto-installer from the game is first used. So if you don't have this "Downloads" folder or if you are new to downloading, simply create the folder in that location (spelled exactly the same - use the capital "D"))

DESCRIPTION:

"Cycle of Life" Crocodiles!
Price: 30 each
Food Price: 10
Buy Mode Category: Miscellaneous
Statistics: Fun 4; Social 3; Hunger 10

Enabled for use at-home and on all away-from-home lots
Requirements: None - Made to work with any version of The Sims 2 game.

Object Description:

More "Cycle of Life" animals for your lake or pond! Buy some crocodile and meat (food) to start. If you take care of your animals, they will prosper and increase in value, but if you don't they will go hungry and die. Care is easy - just keep some food on the lot (in pond or out) and they will self-feed. If you forget, you will be alerted when you need to re-feed. And make sure that you do feed them when they need it, or else your crocs might be forced to seek out alternative protein sources... among your Sims! For Fun points, you can hand-feed the animals too or for Social points you can "say hello" to them (quickly). Impregnated crocodiles will lay fresh eggs in a nest, which you can either cook & eat, or leave alone to hatch into a baby crocodile! Baby crocodiles will soon grow into healthy adult crocodiles . Like all life, these animals can't live forever but they will provide your Sims with exotic food, money and "fellowship" (if that's what you call it) for generations. A variety of additional fun interactions are included. In addition, a large amount of statistical information is available at your fingertips to help managing your crocs easy - such as knowing exactly how hungry or pregnant all your crocodiles are, or how depleted your food is, or how soon your baby crocs will grow up... plus much much more, all available with just a single click. A lot of fun new surprises were also added too that we know you'll enjoy. Twelve (12) separate files included and plenty of additional details are in the enclosed "readme" file. Enjoy!

Special thanks to Mickyss for allowing us to use his duck model as a base to make our animals here!

GAME PLAY INFO:

The files "7Simslice-TS2-ServingPlatter.package", "7Simslice-TS2-COL-Eggnest.package" and "7Simslice-TS2-COL-Steak.package" were also included in other downloads. They are used for some of the meals in this download too. If you already have them, you don't have to them with these versions because they are the exact same files. But it won't hurt if you do either.

Crocs start out in the lake or pond, but can move onto land. Baby crocs likely will stay in the water until full grown... unless you starve them and force them onto land to seek out... alternative sources of protein....

"Feed For $" option goes away when the animal is full. It will come back when the animal is less full, but not necessarily hungry. When the animal is hungry (Hunger Points < 10), they will self-feed on the Crocodile Food Plants. If none are available (or edible), an alert will warn you to restock their food supply. If no food is available when they need it, they may start eating nearby eggs in the ponds... or even your Sims!

Value for crocodiles increases daily, just after midnight. Pregnant crocodiles are worth a little more $ but only while pregnant. Once they lay their egg, their value goes back to it's previous (but still increases daily). Baby crocs will not increase in value until they grow up, but you can sell them for $1 if you reeeeeeeeaally need the simoleans that badly. Dead animals have no simolean value whatsoever. Same goes for depleted or rotten crocodile food.

Click "Info" on the crocodiles to see their gender, name, pregnancy status and other details.

Crocodile eggs hatch in about six hours. The nest the egg rests in will sink back into the water about an hour after that. You don't need the nest for the egg to hatch, so feel free to move things around if you want. But whereever you put the egg, the baby crocodile will hatch and immediately run for the nearest lake or pond. If you want more eggs to hatch, you have to buy more crocodiles (more info below). If you get more eggs than you want, on the Crocodile Food Plant there is a "Delete All Eggs" option so you don't have to waste time disposing them one by one.

Pregnancy can happen if a male and female crocodile are in the same "room", be it wall or fence enclosure (or free range outside, which is also considered the same "room" by the game). Pregnancy won't happen if they are separated... but that's pretty much a no-brainer....

You can eat a crocodile for a good hearty processed group meal that feeds the whole family (female feeds 8 Sims; larger male feeds 10 Sims). And if you cook an egg, they are soooooo hearty, you can make a plate full of omelets to feed your family.

Egg on Counter - can't eat? If "Consume" doesn't work in this instance, just put the egg on a table or the floor and retry and it will work. It is a routing issue, one that might have come in the original Maxis food file.

Movement patterns of crocodiles - if they seem like they are "wearing out the carpet" in only one area, give them more water to move around in, and less clutter in it, and that should do it. Like any animals, you will have to experiment to get things to your liking. They may also move one direction, while looking another directions. Silly crocies....

Ray gun - you can use it to humanely (and efficiently) "process" the ducks into a hearty meal, rid your lot of them, or to "de-evolve" certain "visitors" back into their original (somewhat egg-like) state...... ;)

Sims can shoot crocodile for Fun points... not that we encourage that kind of thing. If your Sim has high Mechanical skills, the chances of missing are remote.

NEED MORE HELP?:

If you have any questions about downloading, unzipping and installing, please visit our FAQ page which has very detailed instructions at http://www.simslice.com/faq.htm

Any problems with crashes, freezes or objects not showing up are 99.9% of the time related to either "requirements" not being met, OR a fluke in the downloading/installing process... but it's NOT because of the actual object coding itself. Check our FAQ page for a very detailed list of these issues and resolutions you can do to resolve them. Typically the fix is to double check the requirements, and if you meet them, then delete and redownload the item. Do NOT use Simzip to unzip them. Further information as previously stated, is detailed on our FAQ page at http://www.simslice.com/faq.htm. If you still need help after consulting our FAQ page, please contact us and we'll try to help further.
