DESCRIPTION:

Costume Trunk by Simslice.com!
Buy Mode Price: 555
Buy Mode Category: Miscellaneous
Enabled for use at-home and on all away-from-home lots

Object Description:
Dress yourself, or all your guests, in an outfit of your choice instantly! Get crazy at a Toga Party, or perhaps a fun Pajama Party. Try even more interesting outfits such as Glowing Skeletons, Burned Out, or enjoy an evening with your friends dressed in your favorite plush furry animal costume. Twenty-three (23) different types of outfits are available. Plus, with a little effort you can make your own custom costume too! Click the pics above to see screenshots of just some of the options available. There is more to this than meets the eye and I think this is really going to add a new level of fun to your gameplay experience... and best of all, it requires no expansion to use! (although TS2 University users will have additional options available) Have fun! :)

Trunk perfectly matches the Werkbunnst Stonewood Dresser.

Updated January 2006: Vampire outfits (Nightlife users only) for males and females have been added to "Dress Self" and "Dress All", but they only fit adults.

Updated April 2006: Re-enabled for use on Community lots (and all away-from-home lots).

GAMEPLAY NOTES -- PLEASE READ:

*****************************************************************************
*****************************************************************************

1) "BACK TO NORMAL" PIE MENU OPTION: This was included for an important reason - when changing costume after costume, particularly if you are making custom costumes (see below), the game could recognize certain outfits as your Sim's normal "everyday" outfit. But technically it's not - and if dressing in "Everyday" only returns your Sim back to the costume, then use this "BACK TO NORMAL" option to change back to normal. It will strip the Sim (nude) and then set the clothes back to normal (whether it was previously pajamas, formal, everyday, or whatever). Before changing clothes, if your Sim is sooooo engrossed in an activity, they may not realize they are actually nude. Just cancel the activity (or "let it ride") and afterwards the Sim will change clothes. Through gameplay, you'll figure it out pretty easily, and hopefully have a few laughs doing it. :)

2) COSTUME OPTIONS: There are twenty-one (21) different costume options, but not all options are available to all Sims. It depends upon their age and their location. For example, children cannot dress in the Llama suit because it is only made for Teens and older. Those with the University expansion pack will not be able to use certain costumes while on a campus lot because of the way the game is made. But there are plenty of options.

3) THE ENCLOSED TOGA FILE: If you have The Sims 2 University (TS2U) expansion pack installed, then this file will be used when your Sims dress into togas (the standard game togas do not work on home lots, so this was recoded so that it will). Togas are still part of TS2U and this file only calls forth those skins (in a different way), so unfortunately you need TS2U to use them.

4) FURRIES: This option is used to describe some of the plush-type animal-like costumes in the game with anthropomorphic designs. In this case, it includes the Llama (half-face), Llama (full costume), Cow, Blue Bunny, Yellow Bunny, Pink Bunny and last but not least... the Fast Food French Fries. Some of these require expansion packs to use.

5) THE NO SPIN ZONE: Some players of the original Sims (TS1) remember the Costume Trunk that came with House Party. Every Sim on the lot would "spin" when changing. In some cases, that slowed the game (depending on the player's computer's processing speed). Same in this case too, so for this Costume Trunk, only the Sim initiating the "changing" will spin. The others will not spin. Another benefit of this is that others don't have to stop what they're doing to change - change is instant and non-disruptive.

6) BLURRING OVER THE CLOTHES: This is rare, but for example if a Sim is changed into an Everyday-type outfit or costume while, for example, showering or using the toilet, in some cases the blur might not be removed when they exit. If that happens, just use the "BACK TO NORMAL" option, and the process removes this blur.

7) CUSTOM COSTUMES: You'll notice as you change costumes, that you can get some unique looks, particularly using the "Dress All..." options. For example, if you don't want the full Bunny suit, but only the head, and a regular suit underneath, then first select "Dress All.../Pink Bunny" then select "Dress All.../Cheap Leisure Suit". As always, using the "BACK TO NORMAL" feature will erase any crazy designs and return your Sim to a normal look.

8) MAKING VIDEOS, STORIES OR UNIQUE SOCIAL SITUATIONS: I have so enjoyed making and testing this object, and I really think this adds a new level of gameplay to the game that was not previously available. If you make any videos, stories, or even just a screenshot or two, we would REALLY LOVE to see them, so if you feel like it, please feel free to send us a note (or a link) for it, to our address:

help@simslice.com

If we like it and if you want us to, we could even post it on our site where our other guests & visitors can enjoy it too (with credit to you of course, unless you prefer anonymity). Thank you, and I sincerely hope you have a blast with the Costume Trunk.

NEED MORE HELP?:

If you have any questions about downloading, unzipping and installing, please visit our FAQ page which has very detailed instructions at http://www.simslice.com/faq.htm

Any problems with crashes, freezes or objects not showing up are 99.9% of the time related to either "requirements" not being met, OR a fluke in the downloading/installing process... but it's NOT because of the actual object coding itself. Check our FAQ page for a very detailed list of these issues and resolutions you can do to resolve them. Typically the fix is to double check the requirements, and if you meet them, then delete and redownload the item. Do NOT use Simzip to unzip them. Further information as previously stated, is detailed on our FAQ page at http://www.simslice.com/faq.htm. If you still need help after consulting our FAQ page, please contact us and we'll try to help further.
