INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Unzip and put the file ending in ".package" into this folder:
C:\..\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads
Or if you are a frequent downloader, it might help you organize your downloads better if you created a new folder and named it "Simslice", like this:
C:\..\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads\Simslice

(Note: The "Downloads" folder is not created when the game is installed, but only when the auto-installer from the game is first used. So if you don't have this "Downloads" folder or if you are new to downloading, simply create the folder in that location (spelled exactly the same - use the capital "D"))

DESCRIPTION:

Love Crystal (New)!
Buy Mode Price: 1776
Buy Mode Category: Decorative
Statistics: Environment 1; micro-manage your Sim's relationships instantly
Enabled for use at-home and on all away-from-home lots
Requirements: None - Made to work with any version of The Sims 2 game

Object Description:

Basically this is a fast and fun way to maintain high relationships with any Sim you choose, as either lovers or as "just friends". This new Love Crystal is a fun conglomeration of other objects we made, and is based on the original TS1 Love Crystal but with improved gameplay features. The heart-shaped purple crystal will glow and radiate loving hearts & flowers all around itself and your Sim. Your Sim can choose any Sim to become instant lovers -- with relationship scores = 100. You pick the Sim and then greet them while your relationship skyrockets (and if the Sim is not on the lot, they will appear next to your Sim). If you want to be "just friends" instead, that is also an option (relationships also = 100) -- and it applies to all genders and ages. Plus you can invite any Sim you want over to your house anytime you want, whether they are working or not. Enjoy! :)

GAME PLAY INFO:

Toddlers cannot use the Love Crystal. Children and Toddlers can use (and be used by) the Love Crystal, but it will only max out friendships (it won't make them lovers with anyone). Teens on up get full benefits, however during testing we noticed that some Teens don't fall in love.

The Love Crystal will also allow relationships with NPCs too!

What does NPC mean?:

NPC means "Non Player Character" and usually refers to Sims in the game that are not controlled directly by the player (such as the Pizza Guy, Repoman, Burglar, etc.). This object will generate any of those NPCs for you, and "greet" them so that you can socially interact with them, hang out with them, date them, and perhaps more.... Unhoused Sim families aren't yet "playable" Sims so this object may also make them available to generate on the lot too.

"Family" groups:

Many of the NPCs are by default put into the same family group. That's just the way the game was made. As such, they were assigned a last name. Unlike in the original Sims game, most NPCs now have real names, such as "Kaylyn Thomasson" instead of generic-sounding names like "The Maid". All standard NPCs probably use the "Thomason" or "Livingston" last names but as new expansions are made, new NPCs (and family names) are added. There are still a few that go by the generic names (such as the Social Worker for example). During gameplay, you'll be able to figure them all out. If you compile a list of names for each associated NPC, send it to us and we'll update this readme file with it and credit you for the info. :)

Removing an NPC that may just hang around too long:

Usually you can click on the Sim, select "goodbye" and they leave voluntarily. In some cases you may want a faster way to remove a Sim from your lot. This option involves the "Move Objects cheat" to remove the Sim. It is an official cheat by Maxis, and should be safe enough and easy to use, but it MUST be done properly:

Go into the Buy or Build Mode, then hold down Ctrl+Shift while you hit the "c" key. This brings up the white "cheat box" which will appear at the top of the screen. Type in "moveobjects on" (without the quotes and lowercase) and hit enter. Then click on the Sim and hit the delete key. Then bring the cheat box back up the same way as before, and type "moveobjects off" (without the quotes and lowercase) and hit enter. It's very important that you do that last step too. Then play the game as usual. :)

Note: If you make a typo (it will tell you), and that white cheat box doesn't go away when you're done with it, just type "exit" (no quotes, lowercase) to remove it.

Another Note about in-game NPCs:

There are a few NPCs in the game that do not like to spring on certain lots... very few (2 I think), but it's worth a mention. If the Social Bunny or the Therapist for example appear, they will usually disappear immediately (or soon) after. You may not even notice because there are so many Sims to choose from.

NEED MORE HELP?:

If you have any questions about downloading, unzipping and installing, please visit our FAQ page which has very detailed instructions at http://www.simslice.com/faq.htm

Any problems with crashes, freezes or objects not showing up are 99.9% of the time related to either "requirements" not being met, OR a fluke in the downloading/installing process... but it's NOT because of the actual object coding itself. Check our FAQ page for a very detailed list of these issues and resolutions you can do to resolve them. Typically the fix is to double check the requirements, and if you meet them, then delete and redownload the item. Do NOT use Simzip to unzip them. Further information as previously stated, is detailed on our FAQ page at http://www.simslice.com/faq.htm. If you still need help after consulting our FAQ page, please contact us and we'll try to help further.
