INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Unzip and put the file ending in ".package" into this folder:
C:\..\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads
Or if you are a frequent downloader, it might help you organize your downloads better if you created a new folder and named it "Simslice", like this:
C:\..\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads\Simslice

(Note: The "Downloads" folder is not created when the game is installed, but only when the auto-installer from the game is first used. So if you don't have this "Downloads" folder or if you are new to downloading, simply create the folder in that location (spelled exactly the same - use the capital "D"))

DESCRIPTION:

Mini-Nuclear Reactor
Buy Mode Price: 20,000
Buy Mode Category: Electronics
Statistics: Energy 10++; Fun 3; Hygiene -3; Mechanical
Enabled for use at-home and on all away-from-home lots
Requirements: None - made to work with any version of The Sims 2 game.

Object Description:

Never worry about Energy levels again. This is not simply a cheat, it is fun and practical too. Use the quiet, clean energy from this small nuclear reactor to increase Energy points for all Sims on the lot... and keep them at that level always. Two settings available - "Half Power" keeps Sim Energy levels from dropping below 50%, or "Full Power" keeps their Energy levels maxed out. You can power it down at anytime if you don't want Sim Energy levels effected. Sims can also work on the reactor core to earn Mechanical points. Loads of fun surprises included too! :)

Updated March 2006: The proper "Mechanical" skill listing in the description was added. This also now shows both silo and both base color options in the game (four possible reactors total). Special thanks to Mickyss for resolving that.

ADDITIONAL INFO:

When working on the reactor core, the screwdriver doesn't quite touch the mechanical thingamabobs. Also, if you put the reactor out in the open, you might (or might not) see Sims approach it and walk just slightly through the side of it. Both of these issues have to do with the base object used, which was smaller than the reactor. We hope to address these in an update, but we think these aesthetic issues are pretty minor and not reason to prevent releasing it now.

The poly count for this model is a little higher than the recommended requirement for a game object. Mickyss did this to give the object the level of detail it required, and we think the end result is well worth it. The drawback for higher poly items is that it can slow the game in some cases. Probably not in this case, unless you have a lot of them on the lot (which is not necessary). Even if you do, it may still be fine, depending on your computer. Eithe way, It is safe and shouldn't cause any problems.

Playing around with the reactor can be fun, but it will drain hygiene. Same goes with nuclear waste, and there could be side effects too. ;)

NEED MORE HELP?:

If you have any questions about downloading, unzipping and installing, please visit our FAQ page which has very detailed instructions at http://www.simslice.com/faq.htm

Any problems with crashes, freezes or objects not showing up are 99.9% of the time related to either "requirements" not being met, OR a fluke in the downloading/installing process... but it's NOT because of the actual object coding itself. Check our FAQ page for a very detailed list of these issues and resolutions you can do to resolve them. Typically the fix is to double check the requirements, and if you meet them, then delete and redownload the item. Do NOT use Simzip to unzip them. Further information as previously stated, is detailed on our FAQ page at http://www.simslice.com/faq.htm. If you still need help after consulting our FAQ page, please contact us and we'll try to help further.
