INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Unzip and put all files ending in ".package" into this folder:
C:\..\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads
Or if you are a frequent downloader, it might help you organize your downloads better if you created a new folder and named it "Simslice", like this:
C:\..\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads\Simslice

(Note: The "Downloads" folder is not created when the game is installed, but only when the auto-installer from the game is first used. So if you don't have this "Downloads" folder or if you are new to downloading, simply create the folder in that location (spelled exactly the same - use the capital "D"))

DESCRIPTION:

Protest Zone Cone!

Buy Mode Price: 10
Buy Mode Category: Miscellaneous
Statistics: Social 5; Fun 1; Environment 1

Enabled for use at-home and on all away-from-home lots
Requirements: None - Made to work with any version of The Sims 2 game.

Object Description:

Like some politicians, why should your important Sim be bothered by actually seeing protesters or having to hear dissenting opinions? Now you too can set up your own "Protest Zone" as far away from your Sim as you want. Click on a cone to set it to your Sim, and then other disapproving Sims will flock over to express their disapproval. Each cone can hold back two protesters, so use as many cones as you want. Relationship points will be unaffected. At anytime, unset the cones and your Sim will be returned to their normal, non-infamous life. Additional gameplay instructions in the readme file, or click "Info" in the game. Have fun! :)

GAME PLAY INFO:

Bringing anti-Superstar elements to TS2. Adoring dissenters will jeer your infamous Sim, but even if they are ignored, that Sim's Social points will slowly increase if they are Outgoing enough to handle it (Outgoing = 7+).

When first bought, cones are "Unset" (no Sims assigned to it). Choose "Set Infamy" and the Sim you pick will be the latest abhorrent Sim. Choose "Unset Infamy" to remove all Sims from the black list. Only one Sim can be assigned to each cone, but you can have multiple cones with multiple Sims assigned to them. You can Set and Unset Sims for an individual cone, or for all cones on the lot.

Once a cone is set to a Sim, you can't change it to another Sim without first Unsetting it. More specifically, if you choose the "Set Infamy.../All Cones", it will only assign the Sim to those cones on the lot that do NOT have any Sim assigned to them. That way, you can buy more cones over time, set a bunch of them to some new Sim, and not have to reset the existing cones. Unsetting cones is easy when necessary, you can do it cone by cone, or unset all cones on the lot in a single click (... well, two clicks...).

You can't move the cone while it's in use (holding back your Sim's protesters). But once the protesters leave, you can move it. Protesters also will be too wrapped up whining and complaining to be interacted with. If you really want to greet them (or ask them to leave), just "Unset" the Sim from the cone, and they will stop their whining and will interact with your Sim as if they are on the same level. ;)

Put the cones anywhere you want. Each cone will summon two protesters once you set a Sim to it (usually within an hour). If no Sim is assigned (or if the cone is Unset), no protesters will appear. Protesters will be too overwhelmed by your Sim's dispicable presence to want to do anything else besides complain, boo, shout, etc. They will eventually leave of course, and within an hour later, two more protesters will arrive. Because your Sim is so infamous now, this will go on all hours of the day or night. Stop this anytime by Unsetting the cone or deleting it.

If you have a slower computer, try one cone first, then add more. You may notice a slight pause when the two protesters emerge, depending on your computer. The more cones you have, the more processing power it takes to generate additional protesters. This is nothing harmful, but slower computers with a lot of cones and protesters on the lot may experience some slowness, so keep that in mind.

Click "Info" to check which Sim is assigned to a particular cone. Choose "Info.../All Cones" to get a dialog for all cones -- this option will only show you the cones that have Sims assigned to them. If a cone is unset, it will not display any info here. The order info is displayed: typically, it starts with the first cone placed on the lot, and checks the other cones from earliest to latest bought.

NEED MORE HELP?:

If you have any questions about downloading, unzipping and installing, please visit our FAQ page which has very detailed instructions at http://www.simslice.com/faq.htm

Any problems with crashes, freezes or objects not showing up are 99.9% of the time related to either "requirements" not being met, OR a fluke in the downloading/installing process... but it's NOT because of the actual object coding itself. Check our FAQ page for a very detailed list of these issues and resolutions you can do to resolve them. Typically the fix is to double check the requirements, and if you meet them, then delete and redownload the item. Do NOT use Simzip to unzip them. Further information as previously stated, is detailed on our FAQ page at http://www.simslice.com/faq.htm. If you still need help after consulting our FAQ page, please contact us and we'll try to help further.
