(2)What is the MESH? Why i must download MESH ?

Mesh is the BASE of recolor items.you must download MESH first to use all recolor items. the items will be not appear in your game without MESH.

(3)How do I get these files into my game?

1.all Files of "xxxxxx.package"(meshes/objests/skins/hairs/accessories/makeup..and so on)
------put them to the path C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads (not double click ,not setup!)

2.all Files of "xxxxx.sims2pack" ----- please double click the item and install the file to your game

If you have no Downloads folder,set up by yourself please,that's ok

(4)How to unzip the files?

The first thing you need is a zip file extractor like WinZIP or WINRAR then double click the files you download .These files are compressed and you can uncompress them in this manner.
