If you have questions about anything, or if you obtained this from somewhere other than Simslice, please send an email to service@simslice.com. Thanks, and enjoy! :) Sims 2 content is not compatible with the previous The Sims "1" game. ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: See below about how to get the PROPER file. Then unzip and put the PROPER file ending in ".package" into this folder: C:\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads NOTE: If you installed the game in a different folder then adjust that directory path appropriately. Most of you have the "../Downloads" folder already, but if not then just create it. Scroll to the bottom of this page for additional tips & links. THE PROPER FILE: You MUST at least have the Nightlife expansion to use this patch. Some expansions, not all but some, alter the "destination" file in the game when they are first installed...to date, those expansions are: Nightlife, Pets & Seasons. Therefore depending on which of these expansions you have (if any), multiple versions of this patch have been made available to you. There are four versions of this patch available. Each version of the patch is zipped up in it's own separate .zip file (#1, #2, #3 and #4). Each version of the patch has the same file name, "7Simslice-TS2PlumBobCrystal-NLpatch.package". This was done on purpose to help prevent duplicate versions of this patch from winding up in people's games. A "SimsliceInstructions.txt" file is included in each version's .zip file to help clarify these requirements, just in case. Pick one, and ONLY one, .zip file -- choose whichever one version meets the requirements of your game. They are: #1: Use this if you have Nightlife, but do NOT have Pets or Seasons. Any other expansions you may have, if any, are irrelevant.* #2: Use this if you have Nightlife & Pets, but do NOT have Seasons. Any other expansions you may have, if any, are irrelevant.* #3: Use this if you have Nightlife & Seasons, but do NOT have Pets. Any other expansions you may have, if any, are irrelevant.* #4: Use this if you have Nightlife, Pets AND Seasons. Any other expansions you may have, if any, are irrelevant.* *EXISTING EXPANSIONS: *OFB and other expansions not specifically mentioned above do not factor into this patch's requirements - which means it doesn't matter if you have it/them installed or not. At the time of this writing, Seasons was the newest expansion available. We HIGHLY recommend that you remove this patch from your "../Downloads" folder BEFORE installing any additional expansion packs in the future (old or new), or any official Maxis game patches. If in the future, you install expansion(s) released after Seasons, you might still be able to use this but obviously it's impossible for us to know at the time of this writing. Any questions, please contact us or visit Simslice for additional details and alternate versions of this patch. Enjoy! :) ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** DESCRIPTION: Plum Bob Crystal Routing Patch Buy Mode Price: §49 Buy Mode Category: Decorative Enabled for use at-home and on all away-from-home lots Requirements: The Nightlife expansion pack. See "Installation Instructions" above for additional details. Object Description: Now your Sims can move around the lot using any of the 7 main movement (routing) options at anytime, including "Teleport Here" (even Toddlers can use it!) and "Sneak Here" which was reserved for the Burglar NPC. They can also get "Fly Here" and "Stalk Here" whether they are a Vampire or not. And also use any of the more normal ones too, like "Run Here", etc. All these options work when you installed the file, so you don't even have to "buy" this object from Buy Mode if you don't want to. But you should REMOVE THIS FILE from your game BEFORE you install any new expansions or official patches. A safety alert is also in the object in case you forget. Additional details are available in the game by clicking "Info". A quirky "Gaze" feature is also included, to increase Comfort & Fun, but this euphoria is slightly draining (in Energy). Hope you like! :) Seasons expansion users: If you have Seasons and you installed the proper version of this patch, you will notice that Toddlers are no longer the only Sims that can "Play In" the snow.... teens through elders have been coded via this patch to be able to "Play In" snow now too. ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** GAMEPLAY NOTES -- PLEASE READ: ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** If you have The Sims 2 University expansion pack, you will have a cool glowy foggy effect around the crystal. If you don't, you'll have a smoky steamy effect instead. awwww yeaaaah duuuude huhuhhuhuhhhuh.... %} "Gaze" into the crystal to increase Comfort and (for some) Fun, and decrease Energy. This object is also a patch. It does not need to be bought in Buy Mode to work, it only has to be installed in your "../Downloads folder". You probably noticed that Sims can't always route (move) to places the same way everytime - for example, sometimes the "Run Here" is available, sometimes it's not. This patch will allow your Sims & Guests to use all 7 main routing options at anytime: "Teleport Here" (adjusted to include Children & Toddlers now too!) "Sneak Here" (the hidden movement which was previously reserved only for the Burglar NPC) "Run Here" "Go Here" "Skip Here" (not one of my personal favorites, but...) "Fly Here" (works whether your a Vampire or not) "Stalk Here" (works whether your a Vampire or not) Sims currently swimming or holding objects (including babies) might have to stop doing that before they can have access to certain routing options. At anytime if you want to return your routing options back to the game norm, then simply delete this ".package" file from your "../Downloads" folder. Everything will revert back to normal. This patch will probably supercede any previous destination hack you may have (...if any - for example if you downloaded and installed the Insimenator dest edition from another site). If you don't have any other patches, then just disregard this Note. Special thanks to Guabaman for bringing this to our attention. You can read and post more on this topic in our forums, here: http://forums.simslice.com/main/index.php?showtopic=301 ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** NEED MORE HELP?: If you have any questions about downloading, unzipping and installing, please visit our FAQ page which has very detailed instructions at http://www.simslice.com/faq.htm Any problems with crashes, freezes or objects not showing up are 99.9% of the time related to either "requirements" not being met, OR a fluke in the downloading/installing process... but it's NOT because of the actual object coding itself. Check our FAQ page for a very detailed list of these issues and resolutions you can do to resolve them. Typically the fix is to double check the requirements, and if you meet them, then delete and redownload the item. Do NOT use Simzip to unzip them. Further information as previously stated, is detailed on our FAQ page at http://www.simslice.com/faq.htm.
